The concept behind the wine
Action is the second chapter of the Cycle of Siridio: the moment when the idea stops being an image and becomes movement.
In the story told on the label, Siridio is no longer lying on the hill looking at the star. He is now standing, ready to set off, with his bow and arrows beside him. The vision has found a direction and asks to be transformed into a gesture.
Our Valpolicella Classico Superiore interprets this passage with greater depth, structure and evolution. It is the wine of conscious choice, time and the will to go beyond the immediacy of the first impulse.
In Action, Valpolicella Classica is expressed through a more intense and layered profile, while maintaining balance, precision and stylistic recognisability.
Tasting notes
Valpolicella Classico Superiore Azione is made from Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes, hand-harvested from the hillside vineyards of Negrar di Valpolicella.
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red colour with subtle garnet reflections.
On the nose, it expresses notes of ripe red fruit, cherry, plum and delicate hints of sweet spices. The wine’s evolution brings light toasted nuances and a fine balsamic note, adding depth to its aromatic profile.
On the palate, it is dry, smooth and persistent, with pleasant sapidity and a balanced structure. The sip is fuller and more layered than Valpolicella Classico, while maintaining elegance, precision and good drinkability.
It pairs well with structured first courses with meat sauces, grilled red meats, braised meats, roasts and aged cheeses.
Winemaking technique
Valpolicella Classico Superiore Azione is born from a Valpolicella base made from fresh grapes harvested between September and October, gently crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks.
In mid-November, this base undergoes a second fermentation on a must obtained from grapes harvested in crates and left to dry for about 70 days. This technique, known as Rigoverno, enriches the wine with structure, softness and aromatic complexity, enhancing the typical notes of dried grapes while preserving balance and drinkability.
Once fermentation is complete, the wine ages for 24 months in second-use French oak tonneaux, where it develops depth, harmony and greater expressive elegance.
It then rests in bottle for at least 18 months before release, allowing the wine to complete its balance and accompany its evolution.
